About Us

Pape As a strong Black Business man, Papa Diop. I am the owner of the Black Hair Business Pape & Camile Hair and Beauty Limited along with my wife Camile Diop located at 22A Electric Avenue, Brixton, london Sw9 8JR. It is over 10 years old in the business and marketing industry. This business was mostly influenced by the great demand of hair by my wife’s customers as she was a hairdresser before we started to venture in the hair industry. The business is continuously expanding which has been hard work and dedication as well as a big challenge. Nevertheless, we have gradually used our obstacles as our strengths in becoming a worldwide business. From DIY marketing we are now on London buses advertising our successful brand on television and the largest black owned wholesale and retail hair business in the UK that we know of. We own our own factory and have over 50 employees globally and numerous agents around the world.

Camile I believe that I should be recognised as a Business Woman of the Year because my husband and I have successfully built, the most successful black owned hair business in the U.K. Our global brand begun with my passion for hairdressing, make up and styling. I begun as a hairdresser and noticed a niche in the market to supply human hair to my clients. The process to source good quality hair was tedious and expensive for them. Most of the suppliers are Asians and recently the Chinese. I was determined to add value to my hairdressing business as well as become a major player in this multi billion global industry. We consume this hair, why can’t we produce and sell it. Benefit from our consumerism whilst looking good. This business started very small where I was styling my hair, modelling my own designs along with doing my make-up and not to mention, taking my own photos and doing my promotion as it was difficult in the past to get people support for free since I was not quiet financially stable in covering these costs. Based on my way of production, it attracted other people in noticing my talent and was happy to ask me to produce the same quality of hairstyle for them. I begun as my own brand ambassador and it worked. Humble beginnings. I was motivated by how quickly wearing my own creation escalated into a good business platform, a demand for the hair I used grew so I started ordering in bigger proportion which was risky as I didn’t really have an outlet for sale just yet, but I still took the chance as I believed in where my work was leading me. Later, I had to stop hairdressing and focus on being a hair supplier because there was no time to do both. My business is owned and ran by my husband and I. Very proudly, I have managed to involve my husband whom I have been with for twelve years and I have managed to convince him in being a part of my business vision which became our business vision. It was not an easy persuasion, but I must say I did it. As ladies you all may know what some men are like when we say the word “hair”. I have thought him about the hair, how it should feel, how it should look, etc and now he is a professional as he now knows the hair very well, as he would say sometimes to the customers “I know the hair as I know myself”. As a Strong Black Woman, I have made it this far in being successful as a woman in business and it is truly an amazing step for further and bigger accomplishment to come. From DIY marketing, we are now on London buses advertising our successful brand and the largest black owned wholesale and retail hair business in the U.K. that we know of. We own our own factory and have over 50 employees globally and numerous agents in Europe and Africa.
